hi (again). it has been long, i know. lucky that finally i remember i owned a long-missed blog, hehe.

what’s new? final exam was finally over, so was final year project, so were assignments. so gentlemen, i am yet to breath freely, i still have a lot of things waiting ahead. oh well, who doesn’t? it’s a long journey anyway. err no. life is short, but so many things we wanna do, we have to do. so, life is a long journey.

lets skip about future works yadda yadda. what have i done past these days? shopping and endless time in front of poor lappie (no matter how junky lappie sounds, and how it gives a vibe of youthfullness to the word itself, i prefer laptop to lappie, thank you very much)

let make this entry short and nice.

i am bored. with nothing to do. as some of my friends put it, ‘i am bored when the lecturers keep on cancelling classes‘. yeah cancel ha. we are graduating man (-.-)

oh yeah, i am thinking of listing my wishlist. but then i decided not to. not because i have alter ego not to let people buying me stuffs (aww, come on. i love gifts when they comes with good reasons), but it would be listing things i wish i have. it’s like not counting my blessings with what i already (and happily) have. so there, thank you Allah.

anyway, off the record.. i love the new dkny fresh blossom (it comes in pink – summer 2009 limited edition). it’s a cool apple line. i have been admiring the green and red apple too. okay, i say off the record. so people, this is not advertisment, thank you.

salah silah YDB

** Di atas ni susur galur Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan secara sangat ringkas. Kalau korang perlukan data yang lengkap, tolong buat research di website lain. Aku buat susur galur secara ringkas sekadar yang aku fikir cukup untuk terangkan apa yang aku nak cerita hari ni.
Sabtu lepas, Yang Di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan ke-10 mangkat. Almarhum dikebumikan pada petang tadi, Isnin selepas upacara pertabalan YDB yang ke-11.

Ramai yang tertanya-tanya kenapa anak lelaki sulung almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar ibn Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Tuanku Naquiyuddin ibn Tuanku Ja’afar tak dilantik sebagai Yang Di-pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan ke-11.

Ini ceritanya:

Selepas Tuanku Maharum mangkat, Tuanku Abdul Rahman berkahwin semula dengan seorang wanita Inggeris, Cik Engku Maimunah. Memandangkan Tuanku Munawir adalah putera pertama, baginda dilantik sebagai YDB Negeri Sembilan yang ke-9.

Kawan-kawan jangan lupa, Negeri Sembilan ni unik sebab (i) Negeri Sembilan tiada Raja Muda. Pemangku YDB cuma dilantik apabila YDB memegang jawatan Yang Di-pertuan Agong (ii) tahta tidak turun secara automatik kepada anak sulung lelaki, sebaliknya Undang Nan Empat akan pilih antara Putera Berempat yang difikirkan layak untuk jadi YDB.

Sebelum Tuanku Munawir mangkat, anak baginda Tuanku Muhriz dilaporkan membuat sedikit kesilapan. Jadi apabila Tuanku Munawir mangkat, Undang Nan Empat tak fikir Tuanku Muhriz layak untuk jadi YDB. Jadi, Tuanku Ja’afar (ayahanda saudara pada Tuanku Muhriz) dilantik sebagai YDB ke-10, walaupun baginda bukan anak gahara (anak raja tulen).

Jadi lepas Tuanku Ja’afar mangkat, tahta tu selayaknya turun ke Tuanku Muhriz semula.

I have been awed by snowflakes (besides rain, and many other things) since I was small =)

In northern parts of the globe, it is already snowing. Hehe, many hate the cold, I know. Tell me why I am not surprised with the sudden flock of Mat Salehs and Minah Salehs in Malaysia. Btw, I won’t be around during the Xmas hols, but I will be back within the weekend.

I had a good lunch. Really. Mexican time

Starters: Triple Play (Southwestern Eggrolls + Wing Over Buffalo + Boneless Habanero Wings) – These are chickens and they came in different sauces which are so yummy! Especially the eggrolls…

Main: Monterey Chicken – Chicken again, haha. I love the mashed potato topped by cheese. *sorry, no pica for this one*

Desserts: Molten Chocolate Cake. Ordered by my cousin, it’s his addiction. But I have come to love it as well.

Haish, one meal is enough. Itupun tak habis, banyak weh. Kalau makan lepas swimming, baru habis kot. Hehe. That’s basically said on my stomach’s size/ metabolism, dunno yours.. I like the place too, hihi.

Then we watched a Bodies of Lies, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Overall okay lah.. I like it, but there’s something lacking. I don’t know what..

There’s goofs here and there, but the obvious one would be Aisha would be a weird name for Iranians And.. I knew right away the moment Ferris stepped into the clinic, Aisha is the romance of the story. Typical betul! Hahaha.

There were Quran quotations here and there. There’s a few Arabians issues which I think are true. I cringed during Ferris’s torture – that Al-Saleem bang the hammer to Ferris’s fingers and he went, ‘Oh Goooddd, f*ck’.. eww, that must hurt a lottt.. and the stitches on Ferris’s chin and behind his ear look real *winced*

Hey, it was until I stepped into the hallway did I realised, this is the first time in two years, I went into a cinema again! Mak oi, lamanya… What did I miss? Hehe. The ‘curse’ broken.. There’s story behind why-I-don’t-go-to-cinema. Heh.

choc..

When I was in boarding school, the food was.. (okay, I rather not say it here. Bet you get what I mean, especially if you was in boarding school yourself); I skipped meals, and filled up my stomach with biscuits and chocolates. I can easily eaten up the whole chocolate bar. No no, not the small ones, tapi yang besar tu.. what, 200g ke?

During my upper secondary, my craving for chocolates then started to dwindled. No more bars, I prefer chocolates in smaller sizes, comel-comel aje. Terus masuk mulut, nyum nyum..

And now I don’t really eat chocolates. Eaten occasionally. Not on diet reasons, but.. ntah, don’t feel like buying and eating any. Haha. But I still love choc ice-creams, choc chips yadda yadda.

My sweet tooth dah hilang ke?

Not so. Instead of choc bars, now I find myself craving for choc wafers!

Anyway, aku tak pernah suka Ferrero Rocher. Kalau orang bagi, makan jugaklah sikit. Haha. Pastu tak berusik / bagi orang lain. But I love Kinder!! It’s a wonder kan, though they both came from the same company, but FR tak sedap. Hahaha :p But now I can’t eat them no more.. sob sob. I am still boycotting Netherlands’ products, you see. Haish..

Urgh. All these talking about chocs made me hungry. Lunch timeeee. So what do I have for lunch? Sardine.. Takpe, takpe. Rezeki jugak tu. Siapa suruh malas masak kan? Haha. Tomorrow lunch should be not bad – hopefully. My cousin treat, so lets belasah dia cukup-cukup. Makan sedap-sedap, okeh?

this feeling..

I’ve obtained my 7th semester exam result. Has never been this bad.. until this time. My GPA dropped like.. eww.

I would be lying if I say my mood is okay, but I believe things will eventually be okay =)

Anyway, last Sunday I attended a wedding reception. And guess who did I meet? Bob, my senior in university. Haha. The bride, whose father is a friend of my father appears to be Bob’s friend. Dunia ini sederhana kecil kan.

I know it has been a while. A few things keep me distracted.

For my birthday, a friend gave me Kate, by Kate Moss. I googled and dissapointed with the ads and users’ testimonials. But honesty it smells good – and the smell does stand long. If it last more than 8 hours, it will be fine. Who wants to solat with strong fragrance still lingers? Maybe it suits the younger generation, who simply wouldn’t bother the notes and whatnot. And.. the tropical temperature is doing its favour. Anyway, I am more than happy to own Kate. It’s a gift, so no matter what, it remains special to me =)

Ah, I was eyeing couples of EDT and EDP. I constantly ask for testers every time I went to mega mall – without buying any. Surveys take time, huh. I like something fresh, soft, with a note that can be remembered. I was looking for my very first (self-bought) original perfume. Now, I know how hard it is to find a suitable one. Nothing like finding something for your wardrobe, definately. Maybe the fact that I am cerewet does not help much. Eugh.

But I learn a lot trough the whole process; hoping to learn more! It would be helpful to ignore those people’s testimonials. Everyone’s tastes differ, and the body chemical reaction would not be similar on everyone.

So, my advice would be, try it yourself! Oh, and one smell at a time.

selamat hari raya

Two days to raya. Cleaned the house, sental apa yang patut. End up, feverish. Hehe panas sikit la. My body needs the antibody, so I slept half of the whole morning, and let the white cells in the backbone do their work.

Hmm preparation sgt simple. Mungkin sebab Raya ni exciting utk kiddies aje; pertama sebab boleh balik kampung main bunga api [this does not applies to city kids yang beraya kat bandar-bandar la kot. kat kampung walaupun bunga api dah diharamkan, ade je sumber-sumber yang menjual ] and kedua sebab dapat duit raya.. hehe.

Raya is always fun, sebab semua orang balik. Though ada je makan-makan satu family besar, raya rasa special sikit la. Ngeh ngeh. To ladies, raya = penat. Penat kemas rumah, penat masak/buat kuih, penat cuci pinggan etc. For guys = err, erm takmo tulis lah. Nanti free je kena tolak pahala puasa

mane duet haku pegi?

1. Me dah shopping raya. Takla shopping sgt sbenarnya. Masih ber-sandal-kan sling back yang aku beli 2 tahun lepas. Haha. Maka, mak saya sudah bising, takde duhit ke nak beli baru? tetttt.

2. Me buat investment. Belum nampak hasil. So, kira burn? Ni bukan skim cepat kaya atau MLM. Takde keja nak melayan semua tu.

3. Sudah bayar deposit trip. End of this year, me tak leh ronda-jalan-backpack sbb final year project masih tak jalan (nak bagi jalan la ni. say no to extention. hehe) So lepas grad next year, we hit the road again babe. Insya Allah~

Yerp, me memang kaki jalan. Tapi tak cukup lasak n fit nak gi stone climbing, though ada ke-berangan-an nak cuba. Tak cukup fulus nak ke Angkor Wat. Tak lepas cardio test nak naik Kinabalu (i wanna beat the time. macam local guide yang rilek gila naik Kinabalu pakai bermuda short and selipar jepun). Latest temptation: shopping haven, Jogja. Ahaha. Jakarta ke, Bandung ke, layan~

tafsir; ubat hati

Hari-hari yang tak menggembirakan. Tak guna pun ikutkan hati sangat.

Ayat ni sangat memujuk hati. Ayat yang sangat famous bila masuk bab, ‘La Tahzan’:

Surah al-Baqarah, ayat 216:

… boleh jadi kamu benci kepada sesuatu padahal ia baik bagi kamu, dan boleh jadi kamu suka kepada sesuatu padahal ia buruk bagi kamu. Dan (ingatlah), Allah jualah Yang mengetahui (semuanya itu), sedang kamu tidak mengetahuinya.

Surah al-’Ankabuut, ayat 2-3.

Patutkah manusia menyangka bahawa mereka akan dibiarkan dengan hanya berkata: “Kami beriman”, sedang mereka tidak diuji (dengan sesuatu cubaan)? (2) Dan demi sesungguhnya! Kami telah menguji orang-orang yang terdahulu daripada mereka, maka (dengan ujian yang demikian), nyata apa yang diketahui Allah tentang orang-orang yang sebenar-benarnya beriman, dan nyata pula apa yang diketahuiNya tentang orang-orang yang berdusta. (3)

Sabar la, sabar. Belajar sabar.

Jumpa ayat ni dalam surah Annur, ayat 22:

… hendaklah mereka memaafkan serta melupakan kesalahan orang-orang itu; tidakkah kamu suka supaya Allah mengampunkan dosa kamu? Dan (ingatlah) Allah Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Mengasihani.

Lagi dalam surah Annur, ayat 35:

Allah yang menerangi langit dan bumi. Bandingan nur hidayah petunjuk Allah (Kitab Suci Al-Quran) adalah sebagai sebuah “misykaat” yang berisi sebuah lampu; lampu itu dalam geluk kaca (qandil), geluk kaca itu pula (jernih terang) laksana bintang yang bersinar cemerlang; lampu itu dinyalakan dengan minyak dari pokok yang banyak manfaatnya, (iaitu) pokok zaitun yang bukan sahaja disinari matahari semasa naiknya dan bukan sahaja semasa turunnya (tetapi ia sentiasa terdedah kepada matahari); hampir-hampir minyaknya itu – dengan sendirinya – memancarkan cahaya bersinar (kerana jernihnya) walaupun ia tidak disentuh api; (sinaran nur hidayah yang demikian bandingannya adalah sinaran yang berganda-ganda): cahaya berlapis cahaya. Allah memimpin sesiapa yang dikehendakiNya (menurut undang-undang dan peraturanNya) kepada nur hidayahNya itu; dan Allah mengemukakan berbagai-bagai misal perbandingan untuk umat manusia; dan Allah Maha Mengetahui akan tiap-tiap sesuatu.

Ayat 35 sangat mistik. Bukalah tafsir-tafsir lain, semuanya akan tulis ada banyak pendapat pasal tafsir ayat ni. Beribu-ribu sufi dan mufti dah baca, takde tafsiran yang paling tepat.

Hee, Ramadhan dah sampai ke penghujung. Rasa rugi pulak tak guna masa baik-baik. Jom sama-sama manfaatkan Ramadhan yg hujung-hujung ni.
